Interlude considers the spaces between places, identities, and states of belonging. Bringing together painting, drawing, printmaking, and installation, the exhibition reflects on the experience of inhabiting multiple cultural and geographic contexts, and on the ways familiar spaces can become unsettled through memory and distance.

Gholami’s expansive picture planes move between ambiguous urban landscapes and interior spaces, drawing on architectural forms, gardens, swimming pools, street lamps, and domestic objects. These familiar motifs become points of departure for imagined and remembered environments—places that are neither entirely here nor elsewhere.

Working through a language of gestural marks, layered surfaces, and shifting perspectives, Interlude approaches displacement not simply as a condition of absence, but as a space of possibility: a place where memories, cultures, and imagined worlds can overlap.
