Farnaz Gholami’s works influenced by her experience of dislocation, address themes such as ambiguity in liminal space between utopia/dystopia, fragmented memories of the places, the question of belonging, absence and silence. In her artworks, she uses the motifs of vacant and empty spaces, darkness and night colours to emphasize a feeling of uncertainty and in-betweenness. In order to deliver the feeling of absence and liminality, in her paintings, she gives importance to scale and body perception.
