Farnaz Gholami’s work influenced by her experience of dislocation, addresses the theme of fragmented memories of the places, questioning the idea of belonging, absence, silence while agitating on the notion of liminality between the concepts of utopia and dystopia. In her artworks, she uses the motifs of vacant and empty spaces, darkness and night colours mainly in large scales to emphasize a feeling of uncertainty and in-betweenness.
